I am sorry for "airing" this here, but I CANNOT find any forum on the net, that is for Nursing Home Abuse.
I am hoping someone here has some ideas. I am in California. My mom(my BFF) has been in a SUBACUTE Nursing facility since October 29th. In the last 6 weeks, I have seen horrible signs of abuse to my mom, and I have taken quite a few pictures(these people are VERY stupid. in this age of cell phones with Cameras)
I really want to speak to others who have had problems like mine. I have already filed several complaints against this home. Its unfortunate but do to my mom being on a TRACH there are only 2 places within 20 miles of my home, otherwise I have to put here in a placed thats an hour away, which limits my visits due to being disabled and relying on others to drive me.

I don't have any personal knowledge of this, but a quick google search gave me this link that gives lots of information and specific telephone numbers for reporting abuse in CA.

Good luck!

Hi bufee, it’s really a sad thing that no one is helping you in your mother's care against nursing home abuse. I would like to advice you first that many help lines are open there online which are providing you a chance to report against elder care abuse if anyone is facing these kinds of things. You can also take help from either a local agency meant for elder care abuse or you can consult this to your doctor. The rules on elder care abusing vary from state to state but every state have a toll free number so one can report by calling local agencies.

Hello,

The Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect Resource Center at NursingHomeAlert.com is an informational website designed to help the elderly and their families. The thought of it is disturbing, but abuse of the elderly occurs all too frequently. They are some of society's most vulnerable people, but senior citizens are at perhaps their most vulnerable when their living situations make it clear that they cannot easily defend themselves.

Thanks,

Well in California, there's a Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse Home.  It has a Facilities Enforcement Team that investigates and prosecutes corporate entities, such as skilled nursing homes, hospitals, and residential care facilities, for adopting policies or promoting practices that lead to neglect and/or poor quality of care.
