Help! I am an only child taking care of my 86 year old Dad in my home. My Mom is in a local nursing home and I am unable to spend as much time with her as I'd like.  I work full time outside my home and have children and a husband who need my attentions as well. As a result, I've decided to pay someone to become a companion to Mom and visit her 1-2 times per week when I am unable to. Can anyone shed some light on the going hourly rate for this non-medical service I'm hoping to find?HuhHuh

I really have no idea on the rates for that but just a friendly advice... better make sure that the person  you hire is someone your mom would be able to get along with.  It would be useless to avail of such service if you're mom wouldn't be comfortable around that person.

If it's not too much of a bother perhaps you can check out the Nurse Navigator in this website http://seniorwealthclub.com/. You can find here all kinds of senior care services from different states, facilities and you can even enjoy significant discounts. I hope this can provide you with the answer to your problem.
